Value, Psychological Safety, and the rest of the vocabulary.

Value Score
A 0–100 measure of how important an experience is to the person, computed by the Immersion SDK from cardiac rhythm. Predicts memory and behavior.
Psychological Safety
A 0–100 measure of how comfortable a person is during a moment, computed alongside Value.
Immersion
The technical name for the combined signal of attention and emotional resonance that the Value Score reports. Also the company: Immersion Neuroscience Inc.
Prediction engine
How we describe the Immersion SDK: a system that was developed to predict behavior from physiology, as opposed to an emotion-recognition system that infers named emotions from biometric data.
Emotion recognition system
Under the EU AI Act, an AI system that identifies or infers the emotions or intentions of natural persons on the basis of their biometric data. The Immersion SDK isn’t one.
Key moments
Sustained high or low periods of Value within a day, computed on the device on the Professional plan.
Identity
An optional developer-chosen label on the Professional plan that scopes locally stored scores. Never use PII as an identity.
Monthly Active User (MAU)
A unique device that activated the Immersion SDK and scored at least one sample in a calendar month. The unit of usage billing.
Activation
The one network call the Immersion SDK makes, at launch, to confirm the app is licensed. Cached afterward so the Immersion SDK works offline.
PPG
Photoplethysmography: the optical cardiac sensing used in watches, rings, and finger sensors. One of many valid inputs; the Immersion SDK accepts accurate heart rate from any source at roughly 1 Hz.
Cardiac source
Wherever your app gets heart rate: BLE sensors, fitness devices, wrist or chest sensors, sport shirts, smart glasses, finger pulse sensors, reflected-RF sensing, or recorded series. The Immersion SDK is sensor-agnostic.
